This large family home was tired and in need of a contemporary refurbishment both to the elevational treatment and interior spaces. The Client was keen to gut the interiors, improve the existing elevations and incorporate a large new contemporary open plan kitchen through an extension in place of the existing tired conservatory.
The proposed scheme externally incorporates new bronze casement windows, doors, a feature corner entrance with ribbon window above and contemporary extension, to house the new high end kitchen. Internally, the property has been stripped back to the external brick skin and re-built incorporating new staircases throughout including return staircase to the loft space where a gym, play area and substantial store have been added.
A new entrance feature is designed to flood natural light into the interior with its double height galleried space and the finishing touches have been meticulously planned by professional Interior Consultants working closely with the Studio.
There is also a triple garage conversion to an art studio that will benefit from a double height roof void, overlooked by a mezzanine floor.
The projects success, was to combine quality design with quality materials, to retain a modern free flowing home, that works within its Arts & Craft re modelled external treatment. OPEN architecture worked alongside SGS interiors to create this beautiful family home.
