BOAR's HEAD

Boars Head Events Centre was a unique project and opportunity to take an already approved planning application and tweak it to suit a revised client brief. The new brief from the client was to detail a space which would maximise its potential and ensure it was the ideal venue to host mostly weddings but also conferences, team building events and even car shows!

We were appointed to develop the construction package, but felt that in order to meet the revised brief and build a venue which has a wider appeal, that the materials needed to be more reflective of the area whilst including features which made the overall look and feel more than just a new build venue in East Sussex. We submitted a minor amendment to materials which was approved to allow the venue to have a partially corrugated metal roof, three small dormer gables, a first floor staff office, handmade painted clay tiles and painted larch cladding. Internally, we also worked with the client and design team to create a modern industrial feel with exposed steels and ductwork which blended seamlessly with the art deco and soho interior vibe.

This was a true collaborative project which included landscape designers, MEP consultants, structural engineer, interior designers and project managers alongside the main contractor. After 4 years of working on the project, the result is a stunning venue situated in a beautiful landscape with an attached 9-hole golf course!
