Sevenoaks District Council have approved our proposals for a replacement contemporary glazed orangery to the rear of The Royal Oak Hotel in Sevenoaks, a Grade II Listed property. The existing interior function space is brought to life by thin framed glazing and feature lantern. The details of the rear facade are sensitively addressed and the proposal responds to the decorative brickwork. The reduced height and bulk of the orangery, and the slim profile of the roof, negate the existing conflict with the feature porthole window above. The flow between inside and outside is greatly improved, helping to optimise the restaurant at ground floor in all seasons.
