OPEN architecture have recently been granted planning approval by Greenwich Borough Council for a side and first floor extension with various internal alterations on an end of terrace house in Blackheath. The redesign was a great challenge because the entrance to the house is via a flying freehold which led to reviewing the best way to make use of the differing levels in the property. The final design opens up the home to the garden though a monopitched side extension with small internal courtyard and creates a more open plan space for modern family living (with the all important utility room of course!). Upstairs, the master bedroom is enlarged through a flat roof extension and an ensuite is added.
