PLANNING APPROVAL FROM SEVENOAKS DISTRICT COUNCIL
We were appointed to design a two-storey side extension and a single storey rear extension for this semi-detached property outside of Sevenoaks.
The client wanted a space more suited to modern living however they did not want to lose light in the centre of the plan if they added on an extension. Therefore we created a double height space which flooded the area with light. In doing this we had to consider the proximity to the neighbours and how we were going to protect the neighbours privacy. Our response was to propose timber louvres on the east elevation. This acts as a privacy screen as well as providing some solar shading and extensive glazing.
